I hope you will not mind my sharing this in public:

Two and a half months ago I experienced a severe personal and spiritual crisis. Over some 40 days or so, with customary humility, grace and generosity with your time, replying to all my e-mails with suggestions for reading and general encouragement, I believe you brought me back from the edge of insanity.

I humbly thank you once again and join with others here to say that among thinkers and exemplars in the modern era you Sir, are pre-eminent.
