I would like to thanks Professor Chomsky for his humanity and spirit. This is shown most obviously in his tireless efforts to write back to anyone who emails him a question and his penchant for saying yes to far too many requests for lectures, contributions etc. than someone of his eminence and age should.
Noam is obviously a genius, but we've had them before; what is so special about the professor is his humanity and real belief that the people who aren't awarded the trappings of status and power still have an inherent intellectual worth that if provoked and stimulated can make a better world.
One of the greatest members of our species ever, I reckon.
